Enrolment Information

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

1. Enrolments are open to anyone 16 years or older. Enrolments are accepted
in the order in which they are received. You will be notified if the class is
cancelled. Enrolments by mail/fax/phone will be acknowledged within 1 week.
An Enrolment form must be completed prior to students commencing ECG
courses. The Enrolment form collects information necessary for government
reporting purposes and for ECG. All questions on the Enrolment form require
an answer and the student’s signature must be obtained.
2. Enrolment forms are generally completed in person at Information/Induction
sessions. But they may also be completed via telephone, or the form may be
mailed, emailed or faxed.
3. Enrolments for courses where set class sizes apply are accepted in the order
they are received.
4. If a class fills before an enrolment is received or the class is cancelled, the
prospective students are notified.
5. Students need to pay at least 50% of the course fee upon enrolment. The
course fee must be paid in full at least 5 working days prior to the course
commencing.
6. Fully paid enrolments take precedence. If a student has made a deposit and
then fails to pay in full within 5 working days prior to the course commencing,
his/her place may be forfeited if another student enrols and pays in full. The
deposit is refunded in full. (see refunds below)

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (R.P.L)
Students enrolling in accredited courses may apply for R.P.L. Further
information is available upon request.

CONCESSIONS: The concession fee is available to fulltime students, pensioners
and holders of Health Care Cards & Seniors Cards. Proof is required.

CANCELLATIONS: Classes will be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments
to cover the cost of running the course. You will be advised of this no later than 1
working day prior to the scheduled commencement date.

REFUNDS:
• ECG refunds are in accordance with the ‘Conditions as to Fees & Charges’.
• If a student withdraws, by written notice, from a government-funded course at
any time up until 4 weeks after commencement of classes in that course, then
ECG will refund the tuition fee paid in respect of the course, less the minimum
charge ($55.00) and any other fees and charges paid by or on behalf of the
student (ie. materials and amenities.)
• If a student withdraws from a non-funded course more than 5 working days
before the course commences, a refund of the course fee minus a 10%
administrative charge (a minimum of $5.00) applies.
• If a student withdraws from a non-funded course 5 working days or less before
the course commences, no refund is made.
• A full refund is made to the student within one month if a class is cancelled by
ECG.
• If a student does not undertake tuition in part of a government-funded course
because ECG granted them Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit
Transfer (CT) for that part of the course, ECG will refund the tuition fee for the
SCH for which RPL/CT has been granted. (ie. $1.37 per SCH.). The only
circumstance where a refund does not apply is if the student paid the minimum
tuition fee of $55.00, as per the Conditions as to Fees & Charges.

Support with Language, Literacy & Numeracy Needs: If you need help with
your language, reading & writing or maths to successfully complete your studies,
ECG can arrange support through our Adult Literacy Program. Support may
involve attending group classes or individual tutoring, depending on what is best
